2023-24 Board Goals and Objectives
Goal 1 – COVID-19 Memorial Objective One – Engage with volunteers and/or paid contractors to complete build-out. Objective Two – Develop the artist’s call to be disseminated to the community. Objective Three – Engage local sign companies to design memorial signage. Objective Four – Plan and execute a grand opening by Spring 2024.

Goal 2 – District Culture and Vision
Objective One – Through strategic planning and review, enhance the district’s vision statement.
Objective Two – Develop a tri-fold brochure, similar to existing marketing materials, to be distributed during “at-need” and “pre-need” sales.
Objective Three – Enhance outreach activities in line with the district’s vision.
Objective Four – Utilize social media and other online platforms to educate the community.

Goal 3 – Roadway Expansion Survey and Design Objective One – Engage local land surveyors / architects to bid the district’s expansion survey and design. Objective Two – Work with grounds staff to develop a plan for moving green waste storage out of the expansion area. Objective Three – Identify grant opportunities that may be available for buildout. Objective Four – Schedule board retreat to develop a long range/expansion plan.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPOINTMENT PROCESS:
Davis Cemetery board members are appointed by the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. Applicants must be registered voters and live within the Davis Cemetery District.
Applicants may apply online, download an application, or call to have an application form mailed.
Visit Yolo County Advisory Bodies or call the board clerk’s office at 530-666-8195 for an application. Applications may be submitted electronically or by mail.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES REIMBURSEMENT AND COMPENSATION POLICY:
Board of Trustees are volunteers and do not receive financial compensation. Per Board policy, reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed for cemetery-related business.

Formation: Any territory, whether incorporated or unincorporated, whether contiguous or non-contiguous; districts may not overlap.
3 or 5 Trustees, appointed by the Board of Supervisors to fixed 4-year terms.
