SUMMARY:Mary King Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Mary Neri King Artist Statement:\nI was born into a home where art was at the center. Music\, fine art and creative expression have always been the life-source for my family. Music has made me disciplined\, and drawing and painting have evolved from my love of nature. I grew up in the country in Connecticut\, and raised my children on five acres in Winters\, California for thirty-two years. My art is a tapestry woven of these experiences. I began with watercolor\, but in the past ten years I have also turned to acrylics; possessed by their brilliance and energy. My recent love of painting “en Plein Air” has elevated my work by allowing me to express my passion of the convergence of art and nature. My brush strokes are swifter and I use more vibrancy of color. My work in acrylics\, mono printing\, and collage undoubtedly interact to shape the creative outcome in each medium.\n“Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.” – Rachel Carson\n \n
