SUMMARY:Naomi Bautista Artist Reception
DESCRIPTION:Artist Reception for Naomi Bautista \nGallery 1855 (located at the Davis Cemetery District) is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of local artist Naomi Bautista. The exhibition will run from May 3-May 30th and the artist reception will be held May 20th from 1-4:00 pm. The exhibition will feature colorful oil paintings of a variety of subjects. \nNaomi has been painting for fifteen years. Bautista’s work incorporates diverse approaches to style and subject\, but is grounded in solid techniques. She masterfully layers her paint to give life and vibrancy to her work. Naomi got her start taking a basic painting class at the Davis Arts Center and at a local community college. She continued to study the arts over the years at various classes and workshops from a variety of teachers. There she learned the fundamental basic techniques and how to transfer her love of colors and energy onto the canvas. \n“I paint many different subjects. Any subject can be a reference of what my artistic eyes interpret\, where the interpretation is something only I can create. I try to develop my own style of painting but if I have to categorize it\, it can be called impressionism and abstract.” Naomi Bautista \nGallery 1855 is located at the historic Davis Cemetery District. During the opening the cemetery they will host a self-guided tour set up for visitors. All are welcome to enjoy the art and then take a stroll through history by following the posted signs of their famous residents. For more details on the exhibition please contact Kristi Dvorak at cemcod@dcn.org.  \n  \n  \n\n
